We head of around Agistri past Halikada beach and the limestone caves on the
steep, southern shore and across to Methana passing by the last lava flow from the
volcanoʼs eruption in 300 BC to the small village of Vathi, Methana.
Firstly we visit the beach on the outskirts of town for a swim and snorkel in the deep
dark waters which surround the Methana peninsula or we can organize a trip to the
volcanoʼs crater which involves a road journey and then 15 minutes walk through pine
forests and strange rock formations. There are outstanding views of the Saronic Gulf from
this height and of course of Agistri as well.
Lunch is taken at one of the tavernas by the small harbor in Vathi. On the way
home we stop at the tiny church of Krasopanagia and learn of its unique construction and
the story behind it.
A final swim is taken at stunning Aponissos on the far tip of Agistri island before we
return to the harbor of Megalochori.
The day ends with a cruise back to your port of Origin around 17:30
Free: A refreshment on board, snorkels and masks , SUP - paddle board.
While we can’t guarantee dolphins there is a 60 % chance that we will see them, so keep a lookout.
